On February 14, 2025, we were blessed with the arrival of our beautiful daughter. Unfortunately, her birth came with complications. She inhaled meconium and required resuscitation at birth, leading to a lengthy stay in the Neonatal Intensive Care Unit (NICU).

We are grateful to share that after almost four weeks our daughter is now home and recovering, but the journey is far from over. Despite the care she received, our medical insurance did not cover any of her NICU stay, leaving us with the full financial responsibility for her medical bills.

Our daughter was treated at the Nelson Mandela Children’s Hospital (NMCH), a remarkable institution that stands as a beacon of hope for children across Southern Africa. 

Iliana was admitted as a private patient, but unfortunately, our medical insurance refused to cover her, leaving us to shoulder the financial burden of her treatment. We are currently trying to raise funds to pay her hospital expenses, and as we continue to care for her, we are also preparing for any future medical expenses, as her early resuscitation...
