Hazyview, in the beautiful Greater Kruger corridor has an excess of feral cats. These animals risk disease, predation and road accidents. The Hazyview Ferals project is a long term effort to trap, neuter and release or rehome healthy animals, as well as vaccinate against rabies to protect human life.
The Hazyview vet clinic subsidises neuters, vaccination and treatment for fleas and worms. Each cat costs only R550 ($30/€27/£23) and the initial fundraiser aims to fund ten cats’ treatment in the Hazyview Vakensiedorp area. To ensure long term success this work takes place alongside educational activities in the community.
Funds are paid directly to the veterinary surgery.
