Harold Cressy HS - Relaxation Garden and Bench Project

Standing around in the sun and rain during school intervals isn’t fun. We stand around because we have no sports fields as we are an inner city school, and because we have nothing to sit on. So we often sit on the ground, whether it’s during a hot summer or when it’s pouring with rain.

We travel to school from the townships and other places on the Cape Flats, and face bad social and living conditions. Often hungry, we are happy that the school provides sandwiches for many of us when they are able to. Without that meal, concentrating in class would be almost impossible. We fundraise, of course, to help with the funding.

But during intervals, when we need to relax and ease our bodies and minds, it’s difficult. There’s nowhere to relax, nowhere to chill with friends and strangers who will become new friends for life.

The solution is so simple! Can you help us by contributing to the 'Relaxation Garden and Bench Project’ for our school? We hope to raise R100 000 towards Phase 1 of this project.
