Building the first mental health centre for men in South Africa
We are building the first Health and Wellness Centre to empower MatrixMen to improve access to Mental Health for men in South Africa. Its not that men dont want to go to therapy, the biggest problem is that they cannot afford it.
Working in the mental health space and focusing on male issues doesnt give us access to any of the government funding models, so MatrixMen has had to come up with inovative ways to fund itself.
We have funded the centre as best we can to this point, but now need your support to get it opened, that final little push.
Our centre has 16 beds, these paying clients will help us with funding our offices, phones and salaries. The centre will empower us to start our MatrixMens cirlcles where men can meet every second week to talk about any difficulties they have without fear of judgment or ridicule.
The centre will also be the base where men can come in, have a coffee, relax and chat to a counselour.
