Thato and Helga’s Education Journey to 2026

Without help I cannot keep them in School.

Hi, My name is Mandy Ginsberg, and I am from Gauteng, Johannesburg.

Meet Thato and Helga, 13 and 9 years old The children G-d chose me to give them a chance at a hopeful life. 

Both of these children, due to circumstance, spent their first years on a sidewalk all day by my local supermarket. Thato, just 4 years old, was helping to push his papa Peters trolley to cars to earn tips. Since, Peter has passed away, Peter was a disabled car guard on crutches.

Helga was breastfed on the side of the sidewalk while her single mother, abandoned by her husband, tirelessly worked as a Zimbabwean street vendor to sell oven gloves.

With the help of the most unbelievable community, I have kept these kids off the street and in school for 8 years. We have a monthly group I facilitate that ensures the kids sustenance and shelter.

They are my world, heart and soul. They are the most beautiful children, each with a beautiful spark of light.
