🌸 A Mother’s Plea: Help Kreshanta and Her Daughter Hold on to Hope 🌸

This week, we received a message that broke our hearts. Kreshanta, a hardworking mom from Lenasia, reached out to us in desperation. Yesterday morning, her daughter left for school to write her matric maths paper — with nothing to eat. No child should have to face an important exam on an empty stomach, and no parent should have to carry the weight of such helplessness.

Kreshanta works, but despite her best efforts, her salary simply does not stretch far enough. Two months ago, she narrowly avoided eviction by taking out a loan at work. That decision kept a roof over their heads but left her with repayments she now cannot manage. As it stands, she is in arrears of R1,100, and with this month’s rent of R4,700, the total due is R5,800. On top of this, she struggles daily to provide food, toiletries, and even prepaid electricity.
