Help Alissa Fund

Alissa was born with a condition called hydrocephalus where fluid does not drain on its own. She was born premature at 32 weeks. Had multiple operations. Shunt revisions due to the shunt either been infected with meningitis and every hospital infection. She also contracted ilieus where adhesions closed around her intestines. She then had to have open abdominal surgery. She spent 6 months in hospital. She came home for 1 year and 6 months. She just turned 2 in December and we were most happy. End of January  she was rushed to ICU because she stopped breathing. In the ER she had 2 cardiac arrests and to our knowledge she contracted klebsiella pneumonia. She also had a shunt revision. She was discharged on the 7th of February. She was pretty okay till today 6 March where her stomach distended severely with a high infection marker. We live 35km from the hospital and have to travel up and down because we can't stay with her in icu. It means we drive 4 times. We also still have medical bills we are trying to settle from when she was born. Our medical aid is depleted in certain cove...
