My Dad, Andrè is 72 years old. He is a loving husband to my mom for the past 51 years, the most amazing dad and grandfather. He has never had any health problems but suffered a severe stoke on the 8th of May 2026 shortly after a burst appendix in April.
After a long hospitalization he spend another 5 weeks in rehab where he had to learn to swallow again and received treatment from different therapists. Andrè is paralyzed on the left side of his body and requires full-time care.
In the beginning of July he was hospitalized again due to pneumonia. Fortunately my parents have medical aid but there are big shortfalls.
Andrè is now in a frail care facility gaining his strength but this is also very costly.
My mom (70) still works but her income and the support from family and friends unfortunately do not cover all the medical bills.
