Anton van Vliet is a much-loved Barrydaler. He is well known in our small village for always being willing to help in any way that he can. His generous spirit makes him a welcome addition to any event, and I am sure that, like me, you can't wait to see him again.
Unfortunately, he may not be able to see you shortly if we don't get together to help him.
Anton has recently received the devastating news that the cataracts discovered earlier in the year are growing over his eyes rapidly. If he does not have the needed operations, he will be completely blind soon.
He will require 2 operations - one on each eye, and they cannot be done simultaneously as he will still need to be able to live during recovery.
We have budgeted for both operations, hospital stay, his new glasses after both operations, transport to and from the hospital, as well as a small contribution to groceries during his recovery period.
