Help Aushwin represent South Africa in Europe

A young athlete, Aushwin-Leigh Jantjies, from Barrydale High School, situated in the farming community of Barrydale in the Western Cape has officially been selected to represent South Africa in Europe in the WSS Western Cape Schools Athletics Tour from 27 June- 18 July 2026. He runs the 400m in an incredible 48.19s and earned his place through sacrifice, determination, and raw talent. 

For a child from a small rural town, opportunities like this almost never come. To wear the South African flag on an international stage is a dream bigger than himself — a dream shared by an entire community that has watched him grow, run, and believe despite the odds. 

Aushwin-Leigh only started participating in athletics in 2023, yet his growth and achievements within this short period has been remarkable. His determination, discipline and dedication have allowed him to rise rapidly through the ranks of athletics in the Western Cape.
