From the courts of Valhalla Park to the world stage - Chantè's journey has never been easy, but it has always been hers.

She plays for the Valhalla Vikings, a dodgeball team rooted in the Valhalla Park community. For many of the players there, dodgeball isn't just a game - it's structure, it's belonging, it's something to work towards. Chantè threw herself into it completely. She trained hard, she showed up, and she grew into a player that people started to take notice of.

At the recent South African Dodgeball Nationals, the Green Mambas' head coach noticed her. Not long after, Chantè received the call every young athlete dreams of: she had been selected to represent South Africa at the 2026 World Dodgeball Championship in Bangkok, Thailand.
