Our son Christo (age 13) lives, eats and breathes karate. He started karate at the age of 4 because he was being bullied at school due to his appearance. Little did we know that he would develop a passion for the sport and as a result of the karate, he is today, a confident young man.
Christo represented South Africa at the WUKF Karate World Championships in 2023, held in Dundee, Scotland. He did extremely well, placing 4th in his division, missing bronze by 0.1 points and gold by only 1 point! Needless to say, he was gutted but he is a champ in our eyes.
Christo has once again qualified to represent SA at next year's World Champs to be held in Sweden. However, this comes at a great cost as all tour costs including flights, accommodation, transportation, training fees, competition gear, competition entry fees and spending monies needs to be covered by us.
