The reason for this fundraiser to raise funds for a prosthetic leg for my husband, he lost his left lower limb due to gangrene, which started in his toe and spread, after his first amputation, which his toe was removed the wound never got better. Due to him being unable to work, the amputation was done at a government hospital in Kwazulu Natal, but unfortunately the waiting period for a prosthesis is up to 5 years.
The coning for his leg will be starting, if all goes according to plan, beginning of September.
His wish is to have his prosthesis before 5 years, as he would love to start working again before he turns 60 in 2 years. We cannot afford to pay for a prosthetic limb without assistance.
