Azis Esterhuizen grew up in Mahikeng, North West, a place where he witnessed the devastating impact of drugs on young people and their families. He saw promising lives unravel and households fall apart because of addiction. These experiences stirred something deep within him — a desire to protect, to guide, and to change lives.

After completing his schooling at Hoërskool Swartland in Malmesbury, Western Cape, Azis moved to Moorreesburg. There, by pure chance, he came across an advertisement calling for new police recruits. With a hopeful heart, he applied — unsure if he would even be accepted. But as fate would have it, he was.

During his police training, Azis discovered not just a career, but a calling. His dedication grew stronger with each passing day. Under the mentorship of outstanding officers like P/O Meyer and A/O Badenhorst, he was shaped into a disciplined, passionate officer — one who served with both strength and heart.
