Help Cuan Fund a Year of Melanoma Immunotherapy Treatment
My name is Cuan Walker. I’m 41 years old, and recently my life changed in a way I never expected when I was diagnosed with malignant melanoma skin cancer.
What began with the removal of a lesion from my arm was confirmed to be invasive melanoma. I subsequently underwent further surgery to remove a wider area around the melanoma, together with a sentinel lymph node biopsy and a skin graft to repair my arm.
Unfortunately, pathology showed that the melanoma had reached one lymph node under my arm, meaning my melanoma is classified as Stage III.
The good news
After receiving the positive lymph-node result, my greatest fear was whether the melanoma had travelled elsewhere in my body.
Thankfully, my PET/CT scan showed no evidence of distant metastatic disease or spread to my organs or bones. There is currently no evidence on the scan that the melanoma has progressed to Stage IV.
