About This Campaign

Dave was diagnosed with an acoustic neuroma in April 2025. This is a non cancerous tumor in his left ear canal that affects his balance, hearing and facial muscles. The vertigo is very bad and he is not allowed to drive and his work requires from him to be on the road travelling long distances on a daily basis. Even taking stairs is a problem. His balance is affected badly. Sudden movement is also a big problem as this makes him very dizzy.
He does have a medical insurance but they are only prepare to cover R90 000 of the full costs of R580 000. That took about a years fighting to get them to agree to this and then we must pay 70% off the cost out of our pockets and claim back from the medical insurance. We just don't have that kind of cash flow.
The biggest cost is the hospital. The theater is the most expensive as the opperation will be between 8 & 10 hours and and that alone is R354 000. He would be in hospital for 5 days of which 3 days will be in ICU and 2 days in high care. We would need to be in Cape Town for 2 weeks because Dave would not be...
