Our Mission

Code Red Initiative is dedicated to eradicating period poverty in Cape Town, South Africa. We believe every girl and woman deserves the dignity of managing her menstrual health safely and without shame. Our mission is to empower girls and women from under-resourced communities through employment, education and access to sustainable sanitary products.

What We Do

1. Training and Employment: We train and employ women from townships as seamstresses of reusable pads, equipping them with valuable skills. These women create high-quality, eco-friendly reusable sanitary pads, generating income to support their families through meaningful work.

2. Distribution of Reusable Pads: We distribute these reusable pads to girls and women in need. Each menstrual care kit includes a set of 8 reusable pads, a bucket, soaps, pegs, and instructions on how to care for their period. Our reusable pads offer girls and women an economically beneficial and environmentally sustainable way...
