Help feed 500 Kids with Mina's Kitchen

In the heart of Smutsville, Sedgefield, Western Cape, a quiet revolution is taking place every Saturday. It began on Easter Sunday 2024, when we—a young entrepreneurial couple new to Sedgefield—teamed up with our cleaner, Mina, a local township gem with a big heart and a knack for cooking. Together, with Mina rallying 8 of her closest friends and family, we fed 100 kids a three-course meal. The joy on their faces that day—the gratitude in their eyes as they realised someone cared—hit us hard. We knew this couldn’t be a once-off occurence. With every spare Rand we had, we poured our hearts into what’s now become Mina’s Kitchen, a feeding scheme that’s grown to nourish 500 children, aged 2 to 16, every weekend.

Since April 2024, we’ve served over 12,000 nutritious meals, prepared with love using local, organic produce and packaged sustainably. But the impact goes beyond full bellies.
