In Gqeberha, the name on everyone’s lips was Skyler Ebrahim.

At fourteen years old, the St Thomas High School pupil made it look effortless. Ebrahim navigated the group stages with the composure of someone twice his age. Posting averages that turned heads and silenced doubters.

St Thomas Senior Secondary School has a rich history of developing future stars, and Ebrahim is merely the latest chapter in that story. The school, under the guidance of Preston Brooks and Simon Adams, has become the beating heart of IDSL Gqeberha – a factory for talent in a community that has every reason to believe in something bigger than itself.

“The Skyler is the limit,” Devon Petersen wrote in his announcement. It wasn’t hyperbole. It was prophecy.

Ebrahim will carry the hopes of Gqeberha, the Eastern Cape, and South Africa when he steps onto that UK stage in November. At fourteen, he has something most professionals spend decades searching for: time, talent, and the unshakable belief that he belongs.
