Help Get the ESA Surf Team to SA Champs!

This October, the Ethekwini Surfriders Association (ESA) will be sending a team to the South African Surfing Championships in Jeffreys Bay. We’re especially proud that 15 of the 23 surfers have come through the Surfers Not Street Children program—a powerful testament to transformation in South African surfing.

The team is not only talented, but also a beacon of hope and opportunity. For many of these young surfers, coming from extremely challenging backgrounds, this event is more than a competition—it’s a chance to shine on the national stage, to represent their community, and to show what’s possible when passion meets opportunity.

But we need your help to get them there. 

Unlike many sports, the costs of competing at SA Champs—transport, accommodation, food, competition fees, and support for coaches and carers—fall directly on families. For our team, with so many riders from the Surfers Not Street Children program, this presents a major hurdle.
