Help Gillian Complete Her Journey

My name is Gillian Danica Brinton. I am a 60-year-old transgender woman living in South Africa, raising funds toward the gender-affirming medical care I need as I continue a journey that began in August 2025.

This is not a sudden decision. I was born with Klinefelter syndrome, a chromosomal condition that has affected my body and medical history throughout my life. Klinefelter syndrome does not determine a person’s gender identity, and my experience should not be generalized to everyone with the condition. For me, however, understanding it has helped me make sense of a complicated relationship with my body, masculinity and femininity that stretches back to childhood.

When I was around 13, I had already begun developing breasts.
