Hello everyone,
My name is Samkelisiwe, and I am the mother of a brave 4-year-old boy named Hlelokuhle.

Hlelo was diagnosed with Chronic Kidney Disease (CKD) at just 3 months old. He was born with only one functioning kidney, and over time that kidney has continued to deteriorate. He has now been diagnosed with End Stage Kidney Disease (ESKD) — the final stage of kidney failure. 

Because his kidneys can no longer function properly, Hlelo also suffers from Renal Bone Disease (Renal Rickets), a painful condition that is preventing his bones from growing normally. His growth is severely delayed, and he struggles with weak, fragile bones — yet he continues to fight every day with a smile.

His condition has also caused serious complications, including:

Hypertension (High Blood Pressure)

Diabetes Insipidus (fluid imbalance)
