Help Je’Maine Recover from Severe Burn Injuries

My name is Martin, and I’m reaching out with a heavy heart to ask for help for my wife, Je’Maine.

In August last year, Je’Maine was retrenched, and despite our best efforts, she has not been able to secure new employment. The financial strain became overwhelming, and earlier this year, we had no choice but to cancel our medical aid just to stay afloat.

Yesterday (11 April 2026), our lives changed in an instant.

We were visiting friends when a tragic accident occurred. They have a fire pit in the middle of their patio area. While standing and chatting, Je’Maine stepped backwards, tripped, and fell. In an attempt to break her fall, she turned—but tragically landed directly into the fire on her left side.

She was rushed to the nearest private hospital for emergency treatment, which our incredibly kind friends covered. She is now stable, but she has sustained severe burns to her hands, the left side of her face, and her left shoulder.

Due to the high upfront admission cost of R47,000, she had to be discharged against the doctor’s recommendation....
