Meet Kamogelo Maruma, a passionate and talented chess player who has been sharpening his skills on the board since the age of 7. From his very first tournament, chess has not just been a game to him—it’s been a way of thinking, strategizing, and dreaming big.

Now at just 14, Kamogelo has achieved something incredible, by participating in the local school tournaments, provisional federations, as well as national tournaments: he has earned the tremendous opportunity to represent South Africa at the Commonwealth Chess Championship in Malaysia, 2025. This international platform will allow him to compete against some of the world’s strongest young minds, gain invaluable experience, and proudly fly the South African flag abroad.

But to make his dream possible, Kamogelo needs your help. International tournaments require significant financial support, and every contribution will go directly towards covering the costs of the trip.
