I cater for my People, but right now I need my people.

Hi, I’m Shaakerah from SharsBakes. I’m a home based baker, a wife to an incredible husband and a mum to 2 beautiful girls who happily taste test every cookie that comes out of my kitchen.

I started  in 2019 with a small oven and a big passion. As orders for cookies and cake started coming in,  I realised baking wasn’t just something enjoyed, it was part of who I am. That’s when my motto was born: “I cater for my people.”

I’ve always tried to keep my prices affordable because I know how much special moments mean to families. Seeing a parent able to afford a birthday cake for their child brings me more joy than any profit ever could.

But passion alone can’t keep an oven running.

My oven journey so far:

1. My first small oven baked hundreds of cookies before it finally gave up.
2. My mother in law kindly helped me get a second oven on credit so I could keep baking, sadly that one also stopped working.
