Khulile has been in our lives since 2014. From the moment we met her she has been a special presence in our lives. She has worked for us in various ways over the years, house and pet sat for us, baked with us, travelled with us. Her main stint is being the wonderful full-time nanny for Laura's twins, RooRoo Pie and Big Guy (according to Khulile, who is affectionately known by them as Lile). She has the biggest heart, always putting others first.
Khulile has just been diagnosed with HER-2 positive breast cancer. This has been confirmed by a mammogram and biopsy, as well as a CT scan.
Khulile is from Zimbabwe, and Charlotte Maxexe hospital (JHB Gen), requires a R120 000 deposit for treatment of those who aren't South African, with the costs likely to exceed this quite substantially based on the type of cancer and the expense of the treatment. We can update this information once we have more exact figures. Along with paying for her treatment, we would want to cover her salary during her absence from work, as she is the breadwinner of her family.
