Help Marinel See the World Again

Marinel is a beautiful 13-year-old girl who just started High School, she has the most striking blue-green eyes and a personality full of life and joy. She is energetic, kind, and passionate about the things she loves — dancing, acrobatics, hip-hop, netball, hockey, drama, horse riding, accounting and spending time with family and friends.

Like many young girls her age, Marinel dreams big and lives life with enthusiasm.
But her journey hasn’t been easy.
When Marinel was only five years old, she developed a severe eye infection that was unfortunately mistreated. This heartbreaking experience resulted in permanent vision loss in her left eye.

Since then, Marinel has had to rely on only her right eye to see the world around her.
To protect her remaining vision, she now needs to wear glasses at school so that her right eye doesn’t become too strained from doing all the work on its own.
The only real hope for restoring sight in her left eye is a cornea transplant.
