Help Matteo Access Life-Changing Epilepsy Surgery

Our names are Matthew and Laura, we are the proud parents of a brave 5-year-old boy, Matteo, who lives with cerebral palsy and Lennox-Gastaut syndrome (a severe form of epilepsy). We adopted our beautiful Matteo at the age of 6 weeks after 15 years of struggling with infertility.

This campaign is to get funding for a Vagus Nerve Stimulator (VNS) implant for Matteo and to send him for additional therapy to assist in getting him back to walking and eating again.

Matteo was not born with these conditions. He was a beautiful, healthy little 2-year-old, running after Daddy wherever he went.

But on 14 October 2022, when Matteo was 2 years and 2 months old, he woke up in the early hours of the morning, screaming in pain. We did not know what was happening, so we decided to take him to the hospital where Matteo's paediatrician admitted patients. When we got there, they did X-rays and found there was an obstruction in his colon.
