I feel like I have lost a part of me, I am anxious as I am stuck and I am trying not to panic.
My car broke down last Thursday. We thought we'd solved it with a simple fix changing the two burnt spark plugs but when I drove it again for the first time again on Monday, the same problem returned.
My Hyundai I20 is 12 years old, the longest I have ever had a car and she has been faithful.
Somebody asked me if my children could assist, I replied they are currently paying over R11 000 per month for Dylan to stay at Camphill as his father has not paid maintenance. Unfortunately the courts don't see this as urgent either.
My car has been assessed it at best, it needs engine bearings, fuel pump, piston needs replacing, skimming (I cant remember what he said) rings replaced and a few other things; at worst, a reconditioned engine. The cost is somewhere between R22,000 and R31,000.
Without my car, my work is compromised including the only income I have from my soft furnishing clients, get to events, fetch Dylan or anything else....
