Help me Heal: Recovery After a Tragic Accident

My name is Lindley van Rooyen , and on 31 May 2025, my life changed in an instant.

I was involved in a serious motor vehicle accident while travelling on the back of a bakkie. The driver lost control of the vehicle, and we crashed into a tree. I was flung from the back of the bakkie along with three others.

I survived the accident, but I sustained severe injuries. I broke both my arms and fractured my pelvis, and I suffered nerve damage to my right arm as well as my legs, which has caused intense and ongoing pain. I was hospitalised for almost a month, and within the following three months I was admitted to hospital four more times due to complications from my injuries. I will be going back in the next month or two for my next surgery which will add more financial stress to me and my family.
