Help Nathan race for SA at World Triathlon Champs!

My name is Nathan Hopkins, and two years ago my triathlon journey started with a friend's idea: "let's do an Ironman 70.3 together." I said yes, despite having next to zero fitness after years of not training since high school. Seven months later I crossed that finish line, and after being introduced and humbled by endurance sport, something shifted in me permanently. I fell completely in love with triathlon. The early mornings, the long rides, the discipline, and the community. Even after all the setbacks, I kept coming back.
Over the past two years, while balancing a career in software development and part-time studies, I have pushed myself further than I ever thought I would even try. My goal posts keep moving, and I feel ever more motivated to train harder.
First, I just wanted to improve. Then I wanted to qualify for the SA Triathlon Championships to represent my province. Then I did exactly that.
And now, I have qualified to represent South Africa at the World Triathlon Championships in Pontevedra, Spain, in September 2026.
