HELP NEEDED TO SAVE HAWK HOUNDS AFTER TRAGIC FIRE AND FLOODINGS

Hawk Hounds is a animal shelter in Chatsworth, Western Cape.  

in the early hours of Thursday 7 August, we suffered immense damage due to dam walls that broke and flooded our entire shelter. This after an extremely harsh winter with really damaging rains. Just as we were slowly getting things to manageable, tragedy struck last night. The house where founder Andre stays caught fire and the main bedroom with all his personal belongings, cellphone, clothes and dog beds and blankets burnt down.

Andre stays in the main house where 40 of our dog children sleep with him at night, (mostly the little ones).  Sadly four of the dogs could not escape in time and passed away due to smoke inhalation. This is heartbreaking, but what makes it even more heart shattering is that one of these dogs was his beloved Lucy, his heart, his soul, his everything.

Andre was part of a team who saved Lucy some years back where she was tied to train tracks, and already lost one of her legs due to a train driving over her.  Since that day they have been inseparable.  An...
