Help Our Dad Fight Cancer and Give Him a Chance
For most of his life, our father was the person people called when they needed help. Today, he is the one who needs help.
Our dad is only 59 years old, and he is fighting the biggest battle of his life.
In early 2022, our father was diagnosed with lower rectal cancer. Since then, he has endured years of chemotherapy, difficult treatments and major surgery which resulted in him having to live with a stoma bag.
Despite everything cancer has put him through, he has continued to fight.
Our father has always been a fighter.
Before cancer changed our lives, he dedicated his career to serving and protecting others as a South African police officer. He served both at station level and in specialised units, including a Murder and Robbery Unit.
His dedication and bravery were recognised when he was awarded the Medal of Bravery and medal of long service
He spent his working life protecting other people and running towards situations that many would run away from.
