Rae has earned his place on the 2026 South African National Para Surfing Team and is heading to the ISA World Para Surfing Championship in California this November. Selection is fully self funded, with every athlete responsible for covering flights, accommodation, team apparel and travel costs. - Roxy Davis Foundation Team
Message from Rae:
My name is Raemondo Lessing, a member of the Roxy Davis Foundation, and I've been part of the foundation for 6 years now. I am one of 13 members deployed to go and represent South Africa at the ISA World Para Surfing Championships taking place on the 19th to the 22nd of November at DSTR Surf, Palm Desert, California.
I started competitive surfing in the year of 2022, where I was chosen as one of the WP Surfing team that went to go and compete in Durban where I returned to Cape Town with a silver medal. I went on and winning my first title the following year, and again in 2024, 2025 and I'm still the reigning defending champion in 2026.
