Help Reuben Fight stage 4 Cancer
On 8 May 2026, we celebrated Reuben’s 18th birthday at Loftus. It was a day filled with laughter, excitement, and dreams for the future. The only thing he mentioned was that one of his eyes seemed a little “lazy.” None of us could have imagined how dramatically our lives would change within a matter of weeks.
Shortly afterwards, Reuben began suffering from severe headaches. We initially thought it was migraines or his ongoing sinus problems. When he came down with the flu, we took him to the doctor so he could recover before his exams. We also asked for a referral to an ear, nose and throat specialist, hoping his sinus issues could finally be treated during the school holidays.
Instead, everything changed…
A CT scan revealed that this was far more serious than sinus problems. His right eye had started to droop and was getting worse by the day. On 4 June, Reuben underwent surgery. After the procedure, the surgeon told us that something on the right side did not look normal and...
