My name is Ruhaan Booysen, and I'm an independent filmmaker from Kleinskool, Gqeberha (Port Elizabeth), South Africa.

For over 10 years I have been making Afrikaans short films and drama series entirely on my own — self-taught, no film school, no big budget. I write, direct, edit, and act in my own productions. I have produced over 146 films and built a community of more than 500,000 followers on Facebook and 50,000 subscribers on YouTube — all organically, all from Gqeberha.

My content is made for and loved by ordinary South Africans. Real stories. Real language. Real people.

Right now I am in production on Bloed en Trane (Blood and Tears) — an Afrikaans gangster crime drama set right here in Gqeberha. This is the biggest project I have ever attempted, and I need proper equipment to bring it to life the way it deserves.
