We are a team of 20 dedicated South African Kyokushin-Kan karatekas from diverse backgrounds preparing to represent our country at the World Kyokushin-Kan Karate Championships in Japan on the 22-23 November 2025. This isn’t just about sport — it’s about transformation, representation, and hope. For some team members, this will be their first time flying, leaving the country, or performing on a global stage. It’s a life-changing opportunity as some come from under-resourced backgrounds, where opportunities like this are rare. 

In a time when positive stories are rare, this journey represents hope, resilience, and national pride. As athletes, mentors, and youth leaders, we carry more than belts and medals – we carry the spirit of our communities.
