There are moments in life that divide your world into before and after.

For our family, that moment came when our wife and mom, Juanita, at just 40 years old, was diagnosed with a brain tumour. Overnight, our lives changed in ways we never imagined.

If you've had the privilege of knowing Juanita, you'll know she is the kind of person who gives her whole heart to everyone around her. She is always the first to lend a helping hand, offer comfort, or put someone else's needs before her own. She has been the heart of our family—holding us together with her love, kindness, and unwavering strength.

When doctors discovered the tumour, Juanita underwent major brain surgery in the hope of removing it completely. Although the operation was successful, it was not possible to safely remove all of the tumour. Shortly afterwards, we received the devastating news that it was metastatic melanoma, an aggressive form of cancer that had spread to her brain.
