Twelve-year-old ’Nete should be worrying about school, playing with his friends, and dreaming about his future.

Instead, he is fighting for his life in the Intensive Care Unit after suffering one of the most horrific dog attacks imaginable.

The attack left him with catastrophic injuries. Much of the skin covering his skull was torn away, leaving the bone exposed. He suffered devastating injuries to his face, including severe damage to his jaw and mouth, and both of his ears were lost. His road to recovery will be long and painful, requiring multiple reconstructive surgeries, specialist medical care, and months of treatment.

While doctors fight to save his life, his family faces another overwhelming battle—the enormous cost of his medical care.
