Help Send André to Tokyo

South Africa has earned a place at the first World ORIGAMI Cup in Tokyo and André Blignaut is the brewer who earned it.

André competed against 17 other brewers in South Africa’s first ORIGAMI Cup, progressing through each stage of the competition before taking the national title. That win secured him the opportunity to represent South Africa at the World ORIGAMI Cup in Tokyo on 3 May 2027.

It is an incredible achievement, but there is one major hurdle still standing between André and the world stage.

His qualification gives him a place in the competition, but the journey itself is not funded. André is responsible for covering his return flights, accommodation, transport, travel-related expenses and competition preparation.

That is why we have created this campaign.

André has spent years developing his knowledge, skill and understanding of coffee. He has previously represented South Africa internationally in Cup Tasters, placing eighth in the world, and continues to use what he learns to train, teach and contribute to the South African coffee community...
