Sibusiso Cockburn is a 16-year-old ballet dancer from Muizenberg in Cape Town who lives and dreams ballet. Three years ago, he began ballet classes at the Natalie Lissack School of Ballet with Natalie Lissack. Since then, he has pliéd and pirouetted his way through a successful audition for the Cape Junior Ballet company where he has danced since November 2023.
He has performed in the Cape Junior Ballet Company’s production of Bloom and is performing in the Cape Town City Ballet’s production of The Nutcracker on stage at Artscape from the 13th of December 2024.
Sibusiso’s hard work, dedication and commitment have earned him a place and a partial sponsorship to attend the Summer School of Excellence at the American Academy of Ballet in New York. Alu...
