Help Team SA get to the Roller Derby World Cup!

It’s been seven long years, and now, finally, Team South Africa is back and gearing up to compete in the Roller Derby World Cup in July 2025!

Traditionally held every four years, this will be the first post-pandemic World Cup since 2018 and Team SA’s third shot at competing at the pinnacle of international roller derby against more than 50 teams from around the world.

The team has been hard at work since the tryouts in July 2024, training, conditioning, and pushing the limits to prepare for this tough competition. Now, they need your help to get to Innsbruck, Austria, to fly the SA flag high.

For the uninitiated, roller derby is a full-contact sport played on quad roller skates. It requires agility, deft footwork, and fierceness in equal measures. Teams score points by passing opponents on an oval track, dodging powerful full-body blocks from the opposition. It’s an exhilarating show of athleticism and every move made on track breaks boundaries and defies stereotypes.
