I never imagined I would have to ask strangers for help rebuilding the life I worked so hard to provide. But today, I am.

This past year has been one of the most painful, frightening and financially devastating periods of our lives.

I am the sole breadwinner for a family of five. Despite living with severe, ongoing hip pain and needing a hip replacement, I continue working because my family depends on me. I have repeatedly put my health second because my family always comes first.

Then my youngest grandson needed medical care.

As his grandmother, I never questioned whether I would help. You do whatever you can for a sick child. But the medical expenses placed an enormous burden on our family while I was already struggling financially.
