My mom, Tsebo Lerotholi, a 51-year-old civil servant and devoted single mother, is fighting for her life against stage IIIC cervical cancer. In just a few months since her diagnosis in late September 2025, she's been ravaged by excruciating, crippling joint pain, and catastrophic blood loss – her hemoglobin levels dropped from 13.9 to a life-threatening 7, forcing an emergency transfusion. The woman who once filled a size 40 has now lost 30kg to the relentless disease. Despite her strength, she's been turned away from hospital twice due to lack of beds, leaving us desperate and scared. Our last hope is radiation therapy, unavailable in Lesotho, forcing us to rely on government-appointed slots in South Africa. Since September, we've been given dates for treatment – 19th Feb and 30th March – however, we still have not received treatment to date. We're now waiting for 25th May, two months later, as the disease spreads. My 4-year-old brother, doesn't fully understand her sickness and is saddened when she can't play, and as her 23-year-old daughter, Mpho, I'm torn between being his roc...
