Emergency search and rescue assistance for a missing family member
On 2 September 2026, our family’s world changed forever.
Slade Van der Walt was caught in a rip current at Strand Beach and was swept out to sea. Despite the efforts of the emergency and rescue teams, Slade has not yet been found.
Our family is desperate to continue searching for him.
We will use the money to keep searching for Slade. We want to bring in licensed drone operators, boats and search teams, helicopters and Jet Skis to search the ocean and coastline. The funds will also help cover fuel, equipment and other costs needed for the search.
Our aim is to use as many resources as possible to give us the best chance of finding Slade and bringing him home.
Slade is more than a missing person. He is a son, a brother, a partner, a family member and a friend. Most importantly, he is a father to a daughter who is waiting for answers.
