Stepping Stone Palliative Care Services Expands to Care for More

In Alberton and surrounding areas, Stepping Stone Palliative Care Services has been a beacon of hope for those affected by life-limiting illnesses. Since the inception of our 5-star rated hospice, we have provided dignity care to approximately 4 000 patients and counselled at least 43 000 bereaved family members in our community.

With a critical need for palliative care in South Africa, this non-profit entity has been working tirelessly to provide compassionate care and support to those who need it most. 

The stats are staggering: an estimated 45-50% of all deaths in South Africa could have benefited from palliative care. But our non-profit organisation is determined to make a difference. In 2024, we cared for 241 patients, registered 238 new patients, and conducted at least 636 home visits. But we're not stopping there.
