My name is Simo Charles Success Mbhele, founder of EKASI Fresh Meat — a township-based business created to solve a real problem in Umlazi.
Growing up in the township, I saw how many families travel long distances and spend extra money just to buy fresh meat. Small restaurants and shisanyamas also struggle to access affordable and reliable meat supply close to their communities.
That is where the vision for EKASI Fresh Meat was born.
We are building a container-based Meat Hub that will provide fresh, affordable raw meat directly to households, local restaurants, and shisanyamas within Umlazi. Our mission is not just to sell meat — but to build a structured township business that creates jobs, improves convenience, and stimulates local economic growth.
