Our Story 
Why We’re Building WattWallet
My name is Keagan, and my wife and I are parents to three beautiful children, energetic 3 year old twins and our busy little one year old. We currently live as a young family of five in a modest sized separate entrance on her grandmother’s property. Space is small, money is often tight, and like many families in South Africa, every single rand matters.

My wife is working incredibly hard in a low paying internship, building her future one day at a time. I am pouring all my time, effort, and heart into building a solution that can change our lives and hopefully the lives of millions of other South Africans. We’ve had nights where the electricity runs out while cooking supper, and there’s nothing we can do but wait until payday or try borrow R20 from a neighbour just to finish preparing food for our kids.

That feeling of panic, the embarrassment, the helplessness is something too many families know.

That moment inspired the idea for WattWallet.
