About This Campaign
We didn't move to Kareedouw to start a school.
We moved because we had two boys on the autism spectrum and a longing to give them a better future — somewhere quieter, closer to family, somewhere they might one day live independently. We firmly believed this was what God intended for our family. We had both already resigned and given notice on our home. We looked everywhere, from Graaff-Reinet to Jeffreys Bay. Nothing worked out. And then, shortly before we absolutely had to move, a house became available in a small town called Kareedouw.
We had never planned to go there. But God had.
Who we are
My name is Melodie. My husband is Shawn. Between us we have over 50 years of teaching experience. Education is not what we do. It is who we are.
When we arrived in Kareedouw, I started a small playgroup. Sevran Playgroup began with just two children — two — in a spare room, with a whole lot of love and very little else.
