I'm writing this on behalf of the Veiga family, as someone who loves them like family and has watched them carry so much heartbreak, pain and stress.
Earlier this year, Jordan was diagnosed with Acute Lymphoblastic Leukaemia. After months of really tough treatments, he managed to get into remission and was then able to go ahead with a stem cell transplant (the only way to cure him). We finally got the news we were all praying for, a matching stem cell donor was found overseas. For three and a half months, everything was moving forward with tests and preparations.
Then, just two days before the transplant, the donor backed out 😭😣.
It was a complete shock. There was nothing anyone could do, and it has left everyone who loves Jordan completely broken. But we can’t stop now, Jordan has to keep fighting until a new donor is found.
